A recent study reviewed the injury rates in female youth soccer. The study found that injury rates were higher during games than practices, and most injuries happened to the legs, with ligament injuries the most common type. The researchers advocated for more efforts toward injury prevention in female youth soccer, given that some serious leg injuries can make people give up the sport.
